Crafting Corner: Accessories for a Magazine Shoot (lots of pics)

I don't know if I told everyone but I was entering an idea for Giuseppina Magazine's seventh issue in hopes to be published. Its gonna be a rainbow themed issue and I did a shoot in respect to the day of silence. It was my brain child and I', super proud of it.......but this post is really about the plethora of accessories I made for the shoot. Not all of them were used but I will show you what I made........

These two were the sets of bows that I wore........since I was red.....
the above are red rose lace over black.....I might need to stretch the red out more next time
And the below are just a skull tulle that I had from my Halloween outfit

Two colors of orange bows. One is just orange. The other is almost like a tie die with two colors of orange.

Two colors of purple.....one just purple cotton while the other is a super silky dark purple fabric.

Once again two colors for the green. A basic green and then a patterned one
The patterned one I must admit is my favorite.......

Two colors of yellow. A plain and then a heart patterned one.....you can't see them but they are there!

I didn't finish the blue ones......but she only needed two for her outfit ^.^

And this is a picture of mass production of them.....all but the blue and red ones......

Now those are all the bows I made for this particular shoot. And good thing there were six of us right ^.^ Either way these were super easy to make. And then I just hot glued them to alligator clips.......which means that I might just spend this week mass produsing more of them......now other then that I also made us cute little collars....

This is a picture of mine with my wrist cuffs too.......

And I had every intetion of making the little cuffs to go with too......but it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. I kind of ran outta time.......But that would be the crafting from the last week ^.^ Hope you enjoyed this post.......(and the girls kept all the bows and such that I made for being a part of this).

As always thanx for reading

Day to day: MAC 'Haul' Part 2

Mkay so once again I found myself at the MAC counter in Valley River Center looking at things that I shouldn't be thinking I could afford......but if I wanna be a real make-up artist I needed to get myself a good eye primer for the shadows I have that aren't able to stay on their self......so this is what I got:

This is MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly (I think thats the color) and I rather like it. It matches close enough to my skin tone. And while shooting yesterday I talked to the make up artist that was there and she said that it was the best eye primer I could of bought.....so I don't feel so bad about the following picture:

Now.....while I hate having spent that much I think that it was a well worth it purchase. If you wanna do anything you need to invest in it ^.^ And I'm feeling ok with this purchase ^.^ Though I must say that they do like the $16.50 price tag.......

Black and Red Week: Day 3

So I saw this thing about a black and red week for us little goth kids......and as much as no one seems to want to believe it I really am a little goth kid at heart.....I just like to add color (and can't seem to find black pants I like).....anyway starting tomorrow I'll probably give this a try with something super classy and such. Hope that its not too warm or too cold......

Day to Day: MAC 'Haul' or My Guilty Confession

I'm not one to spend a lot of money on make-up. It actually makes me feel kinda bad when I buy make-up thats too spendy.......(unless I'm super excited about it like with the Sugarpill Cosmetics and their Burning Heat Palette).....so this post is a little bit of a guilty confession.

Yesterday I did something that I don't do very often. I bought from MAC again.....and that sounds rather ominous. I buy from MAC probably once or twice a year (something I'm sure is gonna change soon thanks to the fact that I'm looking into starting to do make-up artistry myself for shoots). And its only ever for like two or three things. I get my cover up there and my powder (I don't really use a full foundation I just use more of the cover up if I need a full face cover). Anyway, this is what I got yesterday.......

Its the MAC Select Cover Up in NW20 (bad pictures once again.....I think I might look into getting a better set up at least light wise to take pics ^.^). And its one of the three things I might splurge on there. And its normally just for shoots so I last me about a year ^.^ But it still makes me feel bad when I give them my cute little hello Kitty card and see the receipt I get back for this one little box......

Yep thats right.....$16.50 for that little tube....well $17 after my bank account rounds it up and dumps the other fifty cents into my savings account. But its so worth the slight strain on my wallet when I get images back from it. At needing one about once a year its only costing me a little over a $1 a month so I guess I should complain less.......

Well thanx for reading my little confession ^.^

Day to Day: Kiss Me Dark

So one of the models that I actually quite love......her name is Acid Poptart.......has started making or is in the process of starting to make a movie.......

Its called Kiss Me Dark (thats the FB page for it).......its a true horror rendition of Romeo and Juliet. Only Juliet really dies and Romeo not so much. Now I'm butchering the whole thing as they have really nice explanation of what it is about......

"Kiss Me Dark is a suspenseful psychological thriller detailing the bizarre love triangle of a killer, his dead lover, and Death. Parrish had the perfect relationship until he lost his Amara, on a night of true horror. Parrish, still in shock, has a hard time accepting Amara's death.... and so does Amara as she discovers she's existing in a surreal purgatory with Parrish's heart beating strongly for her on one side but the dangerous embrace of Death-manifest on the other side. We've all felt as puppets in this great drama of life but this story is different, as is further unfolds we learn who is really pulling the strings in a trail of haunted murders that connects the tangled lives of the characters in this drama."

Wonderful sounding story right? And I personally think its something thats right up my alley ^.^ Seeing as I love love love love horror movies. I checked out the cast on their page too and I'm loving them for horror movie types. I'm sorry to say but goth people are just not as present in movies as I would like ^.^

Now the only issue they are still having is funding......so she set up this cool account on Kickstarter where they can take donations of as little as five dollars or as much as thousands.....I was kinda sad they couldn't just take whatever.....as I like to donate what little I can when I can to be built up into a decent amount....but that is such as the sight. But they have all these cool things that you can get depending on how much you donate.....I was kinda liking the idea of the $50 one if I can get the money in time........

So I thought I would put this out there for all that would like to maybe help out and donate like five bucks or something ^.^ I'm one to always be willing to help an artist realize their dream........(donate here)

As always thanx for reading ^.^
