Photo Finish: Belle Photographie!

I wanted to start something new....basically I just kind of want to showcase local photographers.

Or photographers and other artists that I've worked with!!

Starting of course with my own photography as the guinea pig!

So here we go!

Introduce yourself : 

My name is Belle and my photography falls under Belle Photographie!

I've been shooting for about a year or so.....

And mainly just everyday situations though I have shot a few models.....

And have been working on planning shoots and such in the last couple months to build on my portfolio!!

What would you consider to be your photography style?

I don't think that I have a style yet. I've only been shooting for a little over a year and haven't shot a lot. So I feel like I haven't had time to develop a style. I am trying to find my style at the moment but I do love the more moody and more high end kind of photography. Things where a lot of thought and planning have gone into every part of the shoot!!

Why did you take up photography?

I took up photography because they were offering it at my collage and I thought that for once I should try to be on the other side of the camera.

I also love any sort of artistic outlet! And this just lets me do that!

Where do you draw inspiration from for your photography?

I draw most my inspiration from art and nature. Like I just found the coolest butterfly that imitates bees. And I think that it is just so cool that it would be great to do something inspired by things that aren't exactly what they seem. Though I'm not sure if I'll do it through just photography or by also designing clothing that goes along......either way photography will be involved!!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself designing clothing and other such things for my store. I hope by that time I will have mastered product photography to a point that I can produce my own catalogs for my store. I would love to be living in a major city of some sort in either a beautiful studio or a house if I have a family.

I also hope to have a family and plenty of reasons to take photos. 

Where do you hope to take your photography?

I would really love to get better at shooting. As of right now I really just want to learn all the things I need to learn to be a better photographer and get a lot of experience in. I'm hoping to go towards my visual inspirations of just darker themes and fully planned out concepts.

What kinds of projects do you have coming up?

Right now I don't have any projects coming up. This summer I hope to shoot once a week! And just get myself to a point that I'm shooting constantly good work!

What photography rules do you break? And which ones would you never break?

I feel like I don't  know the rules well enough to break them. And at the moment I just kind of shoot and figure out what I love and what I hate!!

What do you think of the photography scene in Eugene?

I think that the scene in Eugene is great. There are a lot of photographers around. And you'd think that would be a bad thing but I don't think so because there are so many willing to help with the learning process. 

I do feel at times that it can be a bit much to keep up with with all the different groups and shoots. But I feel that its rewarding as well.

What would you suggest I ask the next interviewee?

What photographers that they admire and why do they admire them.

Test shoot for location scouting!!

Ruffles, Mask and Dark Kisses

Welcome back wonderful people!!

I shot recently with Tammie Harris Photography!

A wonderful local female photographer......

And she wanted to try something new and a little different 

As she felt that her work was getting a little too safe....

So we played with the lighting!!

For this first one we build a little fort in the studio out of some pretty fabrics......

And then we covered it with some Christmas lights 

Which created little twinkles of lights behind the fabric......

And super stark lighting!!

My skin looks super flawless in this image ^.^

This one was shot a little later in the evening with just a very bright light on my face!!

It made a sort of framing on all the pictures.....

With a very nice affect on my skin I think!!

This last one was closer to the end of the night!! 

We ditched the stark backgrounds and thought to play a little with this nice area!

Thinking it would be a nice change.....

I think that it was a great idea!

Overall I think that Tammie and I did a great job with these images!!

All clothing and styling was done by me!

The Greatest Man......

to ever walk the earth, was my dad!!

He taught me to strive for something better....

Whether that was by going to school

Or just acting like a princess with guys so they would treat me right!

He was always there for me.

And I thought he always would be there.....

Today marks the 13th year since he passed away.

Since the loss of such a great man!! 

And the best father a girl could dream of......

For me......

There are two days a year that are really hard....

Today, which was the day he died.....

And October 24th which was his birthday!

And there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him.

Sometimes to remember the good times....

But also to remember that my dad won't be there to walk me down the aisle....

That he didn't see me graduate high school

And that he won't see me graduate from college.

That my children will never know him except through the stories I tell.

And he won't hold his grandchildren in his arms.

Today is hard for me because my dad was my world. 

All my hopes and dreams included him.

Because I loved him......

And no one could explain why he was gone.

So if you still have your father...........

Then do me a favor today

Hug him an extra time for me

And maybe my dad will feel it too!

So last month there was an ISO Meet Up in Portland at a very cute little wine bar!!

And I'm so sorry its taken me this long to get around to putting up a blog about it.....

But now the time is upon us!!

J. Robert Williams is one of my favorite local photographers!! 

But recently he has been having some health issues and unable to shoot.....

We're hoping he gets back on his feet soon!!

This next image is by a lovely girl who rode up with me and Kassie to the event!!

I love this picture even if it makes me look a little like a hipster <3!!

I have to say I love how this particular image made the tank mostly opaque!!

As it was very very see through!!

This is the first time I've worked with John Hayes Photography!!

And not only do I like the product but him and his wife are rather nice in person!!

I kind of tend to hang back when I go to the Meet Ups to shoot..........

Because I'm shy or not super outgoing.....

I don't really know why

But I do know that from now on I'm going to try a little harder to shoot with more people!!

And to be a little more outgoing!!

Beauty without her Beast

I have decided that I'm gonna start using code names for things! I hope that it makes things a little more interesting!! And it makes me feel better <3

I've always loved Belle! She's my favorite princess and always has been. And I thought that maybe there would be a rough and tumble Beast out there for me, who will just turn into my Prince Charming. But last month me and my Beast (the boyfriend of about ten months) broke up.

I'm not all too happy with this. I had gotten really attached to him and I feel like I really loved him. I was happy just existing with him and I thought that was the best thing in the world. We weren't perfect because there is no way that you can really be perfect but I thought we were happy.

But I guess he wasn't or something. I don't know really. All I know is that I got told that he wasn't adjusting to that this is what life is gonna be like for the rest of his life. A month or so passed and I just got tired of being the reason he was so unhappy. I didn't want us to break up but I hated even more just knowing that I was making him so unhappy. So we ended it on mutual terms.......

I wish that it hadn't happen. And now over a month later it still hurts and I still cry every now and then. Sometimes because I'm angry and sometimes because I'm sad. All I know is that I wish it hadn't happened and I wish he would come home but I can't just put my life on hold hoping that he will come back. Hoping that I meant as much to him as he did to me.

I hope this gave you a little insight into my life and all. And that it helps you understand why I've been a little absent for the last couple months. Sorry also for the lack of pictures but I guess I'm just not in a picture mood with this post!

Introducing Grr!!

So come meet the newest member of my family!!

Here is a video of me taking her in the field!! 

Her name is Grr and we adopted her from a family that found her wandering around in the streets one day. She is about seven plus years old and since taking her to the vet a couple weeks back she is pretty healthy puppy......though the antibiotics have her feeling a little under the weather.

She loves going out in the field to go potty and frolic a little. As well as eat grass? She's always eating grass. And one time she drug me a little further into the grass then normal and a snake got all startled and it almost gave me a heart attack.......

Inside she sleeps in our bed with us till it gets too warm......and while we're out of it she lays on all our pillows and blankets lol. She loves to cuddle with us on the couch while we play video games or watch shows. But she has a mean streak too!! She stole a whole boneless chicken breast off a plate on the table and half a huge burrito outta one of my containers........

But I love her and she's my puppy!!
